GMO’s are all good!
People are making a big deal about nothing. In fact we want most GMO’s.
GMO’s have helped develop fruit and vegetable with higher vitamins. GMO’s have developed crops to withstand pests which results no need for pesticides. GMO’s have given certain crops strength - to withstand environmental temperatures and therefor a higher yield for the farmer and thus cheaper products. Without GMO’s, produce would be so expensive and many times of the year it would be tasteless or bruised. Which might result with many people choosing not to bother eating produce. Consider what the better alternative is there!
GMO’s are created in a lab. They take the seed, alter it in the lab by removing or replacing or adding DNA strands, to generate a desired product.
For example, Canola seed aka rapeseed was developed in Canada during a GMO oil seed production (I think from cabbage and mustard seed together).
The results were that it created an oil that was not pungent, and was low in saturated fat. They’ve been able to produce it at large and keep it low cost for consumers.
I personally worry more about bugs in my food and being able to find cost affordable delicious produce. I see an advantage to GMO’s on the grand scale.
My question is - there are Genetically Engineered (GE) foods that are exposed to radiation. I don’t know why GMO’s get more hype then GE’s. Thoughts?
